About the Podcast
Finding Good Bones is for anyone who wraps themselves in words to warm their heart, who turns to text for a guiding light through the dark. Every other Thursday, hosts Kate Caldwell and Amy Winters speak with a guest on a piece of writing that helps them acknowledge the sorrow in the world, and then find the hope to move through it. Join us as we work to uncover, understand, and share the ”Good Bones” that help us see that we can make this world beautiful.
About the hosts
KATE CALDWELL
Kate Caldwell is a performer and writer in Austin, TX with a BA in Theatre and Dance from UT Austin. She has been in a litany of plays, sketch troupes, and storytelling shows over the years. Most recently she served as the artistic director for Testify, a storytelling show and organization, from its inception in 2013 until 2021, when she had a baby but still had to work full time doing marketing and communications in the sustainability sector. She's still figuring out that whole "balance" thing. We'll see.
Kate loves language, literature, alliteration (see what she did there?) and absolutely losing herself in a good read. Especially if she winds up weeping from the sheer beauty of it all. She is an editor and curator at heart, and finds purpose in uncovering unexpected connections. Kate hates bios, but loves fried chicken and whiskey.
AMY WINTERS
Amy Winters is a writer, editor, and all around storyteller with a BA and MA in English Literature and an MA in American Studies. She spends her days working to advance education across the nation (no small feat!). She is also a self defense expert, so she may be able to kick your butt and then tell a good story about it.
Amy is a dedicated reader and fiction enthusiast (though she also loves a good nonfiction piece as well) who loves to simultaneously read two books: one that brings in the light and one that explores the dark. She is also currently working on a novel, but like, don't ask her about it right now. You writers know how it goes.
